SEND

How will we work with you to help your child who needs additional support from adults at home to access remote education?

Forest Academy continues to be committed to meeting the needs of all pupils including those with special educational needs.  We recognise that for some pupils, accessing their remote learning without the support of an adult may be challenging. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families, and we will work with parents and carers to support those pupils in the following ways:

  • Weekly phone support from teaching staff to provide strategies with how to deliver remote education for pupils with SEND.
  •  Discretional adaptions to remote education for SEND and younger children may be available after speaking to the class teacher / SENCo.
  • Weekly activity packs available for those children unable to access the remote learning tasks being shared online. These may be collected from the office, or delivered to the child’s home.

  • Access to live interventions for children with Individual Education Plans which support their learning towards personalised targets.

Who can I contact?

You will be aware that we have been making regular contact via phone, text and email. This will of course continue, however we realise that these are difficult times for everyone. If you have any immediate concerns or queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Our SENCo is Miss Billard.
