The assessor described Forest Academy as “a deeply inclusive, nurturing and aspirational community where every child is genuinely known, valued and supported.” They praised the school’s caring and respectful approach to behaviour, highlighting our belief in “purpose over power”—focusing on understanding and supporting children.

The review highlighted:

• Calm and supportive learning spaces that help children manage their emotions and return to learning confidently.

• Strong pupil voice, with our Junior Leadership Team actively involved in shaping school life and leading on key wellbeing initiatives.

• A school culture where staff feel trusted and supported, with leaders described as “relentlessly positive and emotionally available.”

“There is a clear golden thread running through the school’s approach—from leadership vision to day-to-day practice.”

Our work with Tender Education and Arts and Nurture UK was also recognised. Programmes like RE:SET help children understand healthy relationships, personal boundaries and respect for others. One pupil told the assessor the sessions had “helped massively”, especially in knowing how to say no when something doesn’t feel right.

We are proud to have retained our Flagship status and remain committed to inclusion not just as an approach—but as part of who we are.
