JLT Visit the Houses of Parliament

On Wednesday 15th April 2026, members of our Junior Leadership Team (JLT) enjoyed a truly memorable visit to the Houses of Parliament after winning a Croydon borough-wide competition with their pupil-led wellbeing action plan.

Their successful entry focused on “Growing Together: Rights, Respect and Pupil Voice”, demonstrating how pupils can play an active role in improving relationships, behaviour and inclusion across the school.

The visit was made even more special as the tour was led by Baroness Floella Benjamin, who warmly welcomed the children and shared her experiences. Pupils explored key areas of Parliament, including the House of Lords, and developed their understanding of how laws are made and decisions are taken.

A highlight of the day was the opportunity to speak directly with Baroness Benjamin. She listened carefully to the children’s ideas and encouraged them to use their voices to make a positive difference.

Our pupils represented the school with pride, demonstrating confidence, curiosity and respect throughout. It was an inspiring experience that brought learning to life and reinforced the importance of pupil leadership and active citizenship.
