Learning Life-Saving Skills with the RNLI

On Thursday 26th March, pupils took part in important RNLI workshops, developing their understanding of water safety and how to keep themselves safe in different environments.
Led by trained RNLI educators, the sessions provided pupils with practical, age-appropriate guidance on how to stay safe near water—whether at the beach, by rivers or around open water in the local area. Children learned how to recognise potential risks, what to do in an emergency, and how to help themselves and others safely.
The workshops were engaging and interactive, encouraging pupils to ask questions, share experiences and think carefully about real-life situations. Pupils explored key messages such as floating to stay safe, calling for help, and making sensible decisions when near water.
These sessions form an important part of our wider safeguarding work, equipping pupils with the knowledge and confidence to make safe choices beyond the classroom. Developing this awareness is essential in helping children understand risk, build independence and stay safe in everyday life.
We are grateful to the RNLI for delivering such valuable learning experiences and supporting our commitment to keeping children safe.
