A Bear-y Brilliant Day Out for Years 2 and 3! π§Έπ

On Friday 19th September 2025, our Year 2 and Year 3 pupils stepped into the charming world of one of literature’s most beloved characters—Paddington Bear—during an exciting visit to The Paddington Bear Experience in London.
The trip was closely linked to our core text in English, Paddington Bear by Michael Bond, and brought the story to life in the most magical way. Children journeyed through immersive sets, explored a recreated Paddington Station, and even had the chance to sip ‘tea’ (just like Paddington!) in Mrs Bird’s kitchen.
The visit provided rich opportunities to deepen children’s engagement with the text, build vocabulary and enhance descriptive writing. The excitement and wonder were evident in every child’s face—from spotting marmalade sandwiches tucked in unusual places, to asking thoughtful questions about Paddington’s journey from Peru.
This type of experience is part of our commitment to a literature-rich curriculum that goes beyond the classroom and fosters a lasting love of reading. A huge thank you to our staff and parent volunteers who helped make the day such a success.
We can’t wait to see how this adventure inspires the children’s storytelling over the coming weeks!
