Forest Academy

Visit from Natasha Irons MP

On Friday 27th February 2026, we were delighted to welcome our local MP, Natasha Irons, back to Forest Academy to celebrate our appointment as a Department for Education Attendance and Behaviour Hub.

This recognition is something we are incredibly proud of, as it means other schools will now visit us to learn about how we promote high attendance and support positive behaviour. It reflects the hard work of our whole school community and the impact of our shared commitment.

During her visit, Natasha Irons spoke to pupils about her role as a Member of Parliament. She explained how she represents the local community, takes part in debates and helps make decisions about new laws. Pupils were keen to ask questions—ranging from her day-to-day responsibilities to how she became an MP—and she responded openly and honestly.

A key highlight of the visit was the opportunity for pupils to share their own ideas. They spoke about improvements they would like to see in the local area, including maintaining green spaces and addressing safety concerns. Natasha Irons listened carefully, reinforcing the importance of young people having a voice in their community.

We are grateful to Natasha Irons for taking the time to visit and engage so positively with our pupils. It was an inspiring experience and a proud moment as we continue our work as an Attendance and Behaviour Hub.
