PE & Sports Premium
At Forest Academy, we are committed to helping every child lead a healthy, active lifestyle. Our PE and Sports Premium funding is used to develop high-quality PE, expand access to diverse sporting activities, and promote wellbeing, teamwork, and personal growth through physical education.
We ensure that every pupil, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to participate, progress, and succeed in sport and physical activity.
Nature of Provision
Our Sports Premium supports a wide range of initiatives, including:

Weekly PE lessons led by a specialist sports coach for all pupils

Regular CPD for teaching staff, improving planning, delivery, and confidence in PE

A strong partnership with the Palace for Life Foundation (Crystal Palace FC) delivering sessions that promote fitness, teamwork, resilience and leadership

Membership in the Croydon Schools Sports Partnership (CSSP), providing access to competitions, staff training, and inter-school collaboration

Expansion of our after-school sports clubs, based on pupil interest (e.g. girls’ football, basketball)

Development of Play Leaders, who support lunchtime activities and lead games for younger children

Celebratory events such as Sports Day and Health Awareness Week, engaging families and local clubs in promoting healthy lifestyles
Curriculum & Staff Development
Our curriculum is designed to:

Offer a broad range of physical activities: gymnastics, dance, athletics, team sports, swimming, and more

Build progression in skills, confidence, and sporting knowledge

Promote cross-curricular learning and whole-child development

Encourage all staff to grow in confidence and capability through coaching and CPD opportunities
